what committee Got right & what Committee got Wrong.

285th post on this amazing blog. Blog gist will augur seeding. As blog tries to place teams by accurate parameters & teams who play with heart. Site called bracketaday.blogspot.com but not 1, but 4 brackets for march madness, nit, cbi & cit. Yet called bracketaday.blogspot.com due to technically 1 mm bracket daily plus other 3 tourneys I seed. Try my best to place teams by seeding (march madness & nit only) & location (march madness, nit, cbi & cit).

Today I will tell my opinions on what committee got right & what committee got wrong. This installment will tell my opinions on committee choices. Alright then. Tell my opinions on how selection committee did with seeding & placement of 68 teams. Excited tow write this piece. While i'll also tell u who top seed is at each seed line & bottom seed is at each seed line so it will help u with ur bracket filling out. That's about it. Here's my view on how committee did its job on sunday evening.

I'll list my congratulations to what they did right for march madness. Ok then.

1 seeds: I have no problem with Crimson Tide, Houston Cougars, Jayhawks & Boilermakers being 1 seeds. Excited to know by saturday morning who 1 those games. Toughest 1 seed is Jayhawks since they have kenpom offense & kenpom defense that falls within ratings for each past tournament championship winner since kenpom complied its data achieving such high marks on kenpom offense & kenpom defense while at Big XII. Ghastliest 1 seed is Purdue since tournament championship winners are usually ap ranked at preseason but they weren't at preseason (notice how i'm not bringing up their Big 10 membership since i don't put too much weight into conference membership for march madness guessing).

2 seeds: I have no problem with UCLA Bruins, Longhorns, Arizona Wildcats & Marquette Golden Eagles being 2 seeds. Would admire 2 see those teams beat their opponents from march 16 through april 3. Toughest 2 seed is Arizona Wildcats since they have omnipotent offense. Ghastliest 2 seed is UCLA since if u look at the intangible Of how team did at in season tournament u'll realize UCLA had 0 wins in its in season tournament thus realizing they're a weaker team for their seed level.

3 seeds: I have no problem with Baylor Bears, Gonzaga Bulldogs, Kansas St Wildcats & Musketeers being 3 seeds. All those teams will live 3 when they play. It was also smart for selection committe to put Baylor below Golden Eagles as Golden Eagles gave Baylor shellacking earlier at the season. Be great to see those admirable mascots Of all 4 teams on our screens this march madness. Toughest 3 seed is Baylor Bears since Scott Drew won march madness championship before. Ghastliest 3 seed is Kansas St since they have 1st year head coach in Tang & kenpom is below what 3 seed would be expected to be at in kenpom.

4 seeds: I have no problem with UConn Huskies, Volunteers, Hoosiers & Cavaliers being 4 seeds. Viewers will watch UConn Huskies, Volunteers, Hoosiers & Cavaliers supporters root 4 their schools. Toughest 4 seed is Volunteers since they have kenpom 2nd ranked defense. Ghastliest 4 seed is Virginia since their kenpom is below what 4 seed would be expected to be at in kenpom.

5 seeds: I have no problem with Aztecs, Duke Blue Devils, St Mary's Gaels & Hurricanes being 5 seeds. See which teams will 5 in those games. Toughest 5 seed is St Mary's Gaels since they won march madness game last year in shellacking result, don't have 1st year head coach & have high kenpom. Ghastliest 5 seed is Miami FL since their kenpom is below what 5 seed would be expected to be at in kenpom.

6 seeds: I have no problem with Cyclones, Bluejays, Kentucky Wildcats & Horned Frogs being 6 seeds. Squads were seeded right. Toughest 6 seed is Kentucky Wildcats since they were ranked at top 4 at preseason ap poll. Ghastliest 6 seed is TCU since Eddie Lampkin left team as that hurts their scoring output, Horned Frogs play winner Of play in game as in all but 1 year since play in game for at large teams was instituted play in winner which was at large made it to round Of 32 & selection committee deemed them lowest 6 seed on seed list selection committee made.

7 seeds: I have no problem with Missouri Tigers being 7 seed. Missouri Tigers will be in 7 if they make elite 8. Toughest 7 seed is Texas A&M Aggies since their net is that Of 5 seed but they were underseeded as 7 seed. Ghastliest 7 seed is Northwestern since their net is that Of 11 seed but they were overseeded as 7 seed & have narrow admissions standards for mens basketball players & womens basketball players which prevents the best ballers from signing with them.

8 seeds: I have no problem with Razorbacks, Terrapins & Hawkeyes being 8 seeds. Don't 8 any of that seeding. Toughest 8 seed is Razorbacks since they have many McDonald's all americans on their squad. Ghastliest 8 seed is Maryland since they had losing record last year & have 1st year head coach in Willard so they will likely be bounced out Of the round Of 64.

9 seeds: I have no problem with FAU Owls & Auburn Tigers being 9 seeds. Squads were seeded right. Toughest 9 seed is FAU Owls since their net, kpi & kenpom all indicate they should be higher seed just looking at those but i agree selection committee did fine job as FAU had nonconference sos which was fluctuating at 1 point around 310 so they were rightly deducted. Ghastliest 9 seed is Illinois as they only have 2 quad 1 wins.

10 seeds: I have no problem with Boise St Broncos, Nittany Lions & Utah St Aggies being 10 seeds. When those squads wake up & hear rooster 10 crowing, they'll be ready to play. Toughest 10 seed is Utah St Aggies since they are lead by Ryan Odom the best coach out Of the bunch if u look at what he did at march madness when he was with 1 bid conference team Retrievers as he lead them. Ghastliest 10 seed is USC since they shouldn't even be in tournament at all.

11 seeds: I have no problem with Pitt Panthers & Sun Devils being 11 seeds. But if they make improbable elite 8 run, then Pitt Panthers & Sun Devils will be in 11. Toughest 11 seed is Friars since they have experience in players like Ed Croswell & they were arguably underseeded as their bpi & sagarin indicated they should have been higher than that seed they were given. Ghastliest 11 seed is Nevada since they're lead by Steve Alford who failed at Iowa & UCLA as he resigned from Iowa & was fired part Of the way through season at UCLA.

12 seeds: I have no problem with Charleston Cougars, Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, Drake Bulldogs & VCU Rams being 12 seeds. Seeded right. Toughest 12 seed is Rams since they have best program within athletic department & best fans Of any Of those 4 teams. Ghastliest 12 seed is Drake since well prepared team will be ready for them as Bulldogs won march madness game 2 years ago so they won't roll up on anyone this time.

13 seeds: I have no problem with Golden Flashes, Iona Gaels, Paladins & Ragin' Cajuns being 13 seeds. Seeded right. Toughest 13 seed is Ragin' Cajuns since they have transfers who were 4 stars who played at power conference teams. Ghastliest 13 seed is Kent St since arena audience will cheer against them due to Kent St killing its own students during antiwar protests as that's why people usually hate Kent St due to their unfathomable actions during that tragedy as i'm sorry those Kent St students lost their lives way back then.

14 seeds: I have no problem with Kennesaw St Owls, Gauchos, Antelopes & Montana St Bobcats being 14 seeds. Seeded right. Toughest 14 seed is Montana St Bobcats since Bobcats have been here before last year & they got easiest matchup out Of 14 seeds in overseed by kenpom Kansas St. Ghastliest 14 seed is Grand Canyon since arena audience will cheer against them due to their fishy antics when they were for profit college & Bryce Drew went winless in SEC at Vanderbilt.

15 seeds: I have no problem with Vermont Catamounts, Colgate Raiders, Princeton Tigers & UNC Asheville Bulldogs being 15 seeds. Seeded right. Toughest 15 seed is Colgate Raiders since Matt Langel is their coach who's just 1 tier below being elite coach. Ghastliest 15 seed is Princeton since they have narrow admissions standards for mens basketball players & womens basketball players which prevents the best ballers from signing with them.

16 seeds: I have no problem with Norse, Howard Bison, Islanders, Texas Southern Tigers, Southeast Missouri St Redhawks & Fairleigh Dickinson Knights being 16 seeds. Seeded right. Toughest 16 seed is Norse since they have highest net out Of any 16 seed. Ghastliest 16 seed is Texas Southern since they are sole team at march madness with losing record & are fine argument for why conferences shouldn't hold tournaments but instead give their march madness big to regular season winner but i'm not against abolition Of conference tournaments but i realize arguments against them.

Snubs: I have no problem with Washington St, Vanderbilt & Mich being snubs. They can then eat Subway snubs after their nit games.

what Committee got Wrong. 

I'll list my complaints to what they did Wrong for here. Boo.

Well i believe Xavier was put at bad locations as Xavier Musketeers being 12 overall seed should not have been given far away Greensboro & far away Kansas City as that will hurt number Of Xavier fans who show up as that college has small alumni size. They should have gotten Albany to Louisville or Albany to New York City instead.

Morose decision to put Miami FL at Albany to Kansas City as those are far away from east Florida. They should think next time before making Miami FL fans go so far to see their team in person.

Concerned Creighton got such easy journey as they were at Denver which is in state which borders Bluejays territory & Louisville which is close to university as that's unfair to Baylor to have to play them at that round Of 32 ok. Thus Creighton should have been sent elsewhere.

Morose decision to put Mich St at Columbus to play Marquette Golden Eagles as Columbus is closer to East Lansing than Columbus is to Milwaukee. Thus that was horrible location placement on committee part thus hurting Marquette at round Of 32.

Terrified at how underseeded Texas A&M was because that 7 seed was only given since they wanted Aggies Longhorns game at round Of 32 just for tv ratings/office cooler talk across the big state Of Texas. But that defies logic if they seeded Texas A&M according to quality metrics & Aggies Longhorns will likely be played at SEC tournament with 1st round being 9 seed playing 16 seed, 10 seed playing 15 seed etc., 2nd round being 5 seed playing 12 seed/13 seed winner, 6 seed playing 11 seed/14 seed winner etc., 3rd round being 1 seed playing 8 seed/9 seed/16 seed winner, 2 seed playing 7 seed/10 seed/15 seed winner etc. 4th round being 1 seed playing 4 seed/5 seed/12 seed/13 seed winner, 2 seed playing 3 seed/6 seed/11 seed/14 seed winner etc. & 5th round deciding championship for SEC so we will see this Texas sized rivalry in the near future in SEC tournament.

Morose decision to give Mich St 7 seed for 2nd consecutive year because Mich St should not get favorable treatment for its actions when Nasser was molesting female gymnasts so if ncaa really cared about its athletes it would not give such a callous college high seeds, i'm angry Mich St allowed him to molest females so Mich St didn't deserve 7 seed this year. Besides Hawkeyes should have gotten 7 seed as they have better player in Kris Murray& Mich St has never made it to sweet 16 & beyond in 5 out Of last 6 tournaments it's been in.

Neglectful decision to have Northwestern be overseeded because their net indicated they should be 11 seed. 9 seed is the seed Northwestern should have gotten.

Morose decision with regards to where Memphis was seeded. But i'm not against Memphis getting 8 seed; however they would have been seeded within 1 seed by me had Mike Hunt Aresco decided to hold AAC tournament final on friday or at 10 am est on sunday as that would have allowed me to get better gauge Of how they were up to that point.

Awful placement to make Auburn play at Birmingham as that benefits Auburn Tigers at likely game against Houston which could cause Houston to get bounced out earlier than expected. They should have put Auburn Tigers at Des Moines against Terrapins in round Of 64 & Jayhawks in round Of 32 rather.

Wasn't a fan Of them putting WVU so low as 9 seed when their net, bpi, kenpom, sagarin & nonconference sos all indicated they should been higher than 9 seed & this likely means i believe selection committee looked at another squad's team sheet when placing WVU in their bracket. They shouldn't seed WVU so low.

Idiotic manuver to put Illinois so high as a 9 seed when they only had 2 quad 1 wins. See i believe teams with 2 quad 1 wins who play at ACC, Big XII, Big East, Big 10, Mountain West, Pac 12 or SEC should be given 10 seed or lower when march madness comes around & their body Of work was not good as their 2 quad 1 wins came before the meat Of conference play so committee should have realized Illinois didn't have hearty body Of work.

Upset Utah St got closer location to Sacramento than 7 seed in its region Missouri Tigers & 2 seed in its region Arizona as Logan is closer to venue than Columbia or Tucson are. While Utah St probably won't advance to sweet 16 Missouri & Arizona fans got hurt by that manuver.

Bull to put Boise St as Sacramento where Boise is closer to that city than Evanston is. That hurts 7 seed at their region as they're given farther location that their opponent is given.

Upset USC is even in the tournament. They had bubble net & they lost at 1st round Of conference tournament.

Pitiful Pitt was placed at Greensboro as they have unfair advantage over Xavier & Iowa St as Greensboro is closer to Pittsburgh than Cincinnati or Ames. Hurt Xavier & Iowa St with placement they gave.

Awful placement to make Sun Devils or Nevada Wolf Pack play at Denver as that will favor them at their royale against TCU since Tempe & Reno are closer to Denver than Ft Worth. A 6 11 upset is brewing thanks to unfavorable location for TCU to have.

Neglectful decision to have NC St be at march madness since as Of saturday they had only 2 quad 1 wins & their net or other quality metrics were lower than Fighting Illini. So it was stupid to put NC St in the royale.

Pitiful Providence was seeded so low. Well i had them as 9 seed rather than 10 seed to make sure there were only 4 Big 10 teams involved at 8 seed 9 seed games this year but selection committee went the other way making them 11 seed but Friars should have been given 9 seed not 11 seed.

Morose decision to put MS St at the dance. They needed overtime to beat Florida which proved they weren't fine enough team to make it in & their nonconference sos was weak.

Neglectful decision to have Nevada scrape march madness. They had 10 losses because i believe a Mountain West team with 10 or more losses shouldn't make march madness because my opinion has thus changed from this point last year.

Concerned Colgate was made to go through Des Moines to Kansas City for its region. Those are far away cities from Hamilton.

Terrified at decision to have Islanders face Southeast Missouri St Redhawks at 1st 4 instead Of Texas Southern Tigers as they missed opportunity to have those who are split fans Of Islanders/Texas Southern Tigers figure out who to cheer for. They really should have made those 2 face each other.

Terrified at decision to have Texas Southern Tigers be put at Columbus to New York as Houston is far away from Columbus or New York. Thus they should think next time before putting Texas Southern so distant.

Horrendous to have Howard play at Des Moines to Las Vegas instead Of Columbus to New York as Howard got shafted with where they to play. They shouldn't have put them there.

Really dumb Rutgers didn't get into tournament this year. In bracketmatrix.com as Of march 14 218 out Of 229 submissions had Scarlet Knights which gives 95.1965% who picked them & they were non kenpom unlucky as they had 6 quad 1 wins upon winning at Nittany Lions but at saturday that number dropped down to 4 quad 1 wins thus hurting their quad wins number but 4 quad 1 wins is decent number Of quad 1 wins for any team to have.

Wasn't a fan Of them putting Wisconsin out of tournament because selection committee needed to delve into the numbers. Thus Badgers had 6 quad 1 wins while suffering 0 quad 4 losses thus deserving to be in. 

Concerned Clemson didn't get into tournament even though i admired them to. They had 4 quad 1 wins which should have offset their 2 quad 4 losses while beating Duke, NC St & Pitt to have 5 wins against ACC march madness teams so they needed to get at tournament since selection committee missed out on fine team being at there.

Oh no OK St wouldn't get in tournament while just missing the cutline so that stunk for them. Even though they had overall record Of 18 to 15 which no team before had gotten in as at large keep in mind those 18 to 15 teams didn't have 6 quad 1 wins like Cowboys did so selection committee was mistaken to not sort college in.

Congratulations to these teams which did rarity this year.

Would admire to therefore appreciate these teams which did rarity Of making mens march madness & womens march madness this year as teams at nonpower conferences specifically 1 bid conference teams. That was unique. Those programs were Drake Bulldogs, Iona Gaels, Princeton Tigers & Vermont Catamounts. It's amazing they did that achievement at our current year.

For my seeds, here's format to decipher them. I'll briefly explain. Going for march madness, each # corresponds to overall seed in tournament. For example, 1.-> 1 overall march madness seed. Going for nit, each # corresponds to overall seed in tournament. For example, 1. -> 1 overall nit seed. Going for cbi, each cbi # corresponds to only teams with winning record in 2021 through 2022 season & will be having lots of teams in AAC, A 10, ACC, Big XII, Big East, Big 10, C USA, Mountain West, Pac 12 & SEC in college basketball. For example 1. would be team with fine winning record in conference alphabetically at top of alphabet & 9. would be team with membership in conference alphabetically below above conferences. Going for cit, each number corresponds to conference alphabetically. Use these footnotes when u're trying to decipher my seeding above. That's my tips. I followed the rules with regard to march madness & nit seeding & march madness, nit, cbi & cit location.
