86th post on this amazing blog. Blog gist will augur seeding. As blog tries to place teams by accurate parameters & teams who play with heart. Site called bracketaday.blogspot.com but not 1, but 4 brackets for march madness, nit, cbi & cit. Yet called bracketaday.blogspot.com due to technically 1 mm bracket daily plus other 3 tourneys I seed. Try my best to place teams by seeding (march madness & nit only) & location (march madness, nit, cbi & cit).
march madness.
I have a compunction about placing d1 teams which lost players due to injury, lost players due to transfer, suffer quad 3 or quad 4 losses, teams which get involved in transportation crashes (which are rare but horrible) or which suck in last several games they played: all conditions I mentioned thus means I won't place them as higher seeds. Those are bad. I have to congratulate d1 teams which gained players back from injury, gained players due to eligible transfer, achieve quad 1 or quad 2 wins, teams which don't get involved in transportation crashes or which excel in last several games they played: all conditions I mentioned thus means I will place them as higher seeds for march madness. Those are fine. Other thing to consider. I place the team with best win out of its conference as that conference autobid. So if a Missouri Valley team beats a #1 Kentucky Wildcats team, that Missouri Valley team will be placed as that conference autobid. Ok. This rule about team with best win out its conference as that conference autobid only applies in nonconference play when there are no conference standings to apply to d1. It only applies when team with best win out of its conference has winning record; so no losing record or .500 teams will be receiving autobid. This best win out of its conference rule is what makes me different from other bracketology sites. I believe if team has best win out of its conference then they can easily beat some weaker teams in their conference, win their conference tournament & get autobid that year.Thus for non power conferences any squad which has best win out of its conference can be seeded from 7 to 16, but they will still in my opinion be considered that conference's autobid. I don't think I'll do best conference record as autobid come conference play. I will probably do best overall record as autobid come conference play. Need to figure cbb things out. If u want me to do best conference record or want best overall record, leave a comment below. Currently, I plan on doing best overall record as autobid for march madness. For example say in 2020 through 2021 season, Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have best overall record, but North Texas Mean Green have best conference record (this exact scenario actually happened in 2019 through 2020 season), then Louisiana Tech Bulldogs would be autobid for C USA. Reason I think this is because team with best overall record is likely the better team & definitely could beat team with best conference record in conference tourney ok. Those are 2 rules I have for putting 1 team as autobid. Thus be happy to see ur team do great & get autobid if scenarios come true. I enjoy making march madness seeds. That's all folks.

For my seeds, format to decipher them. Briefly explain. Going for march madness, each # corresponds to overall seed. For example, 1.-> 1 overall march madness seed. Going for nit, each # corresponds to overall seed. For example, 1. -> 1 overall nit seed. Going for cbi, each # corresponds to if team had winning or .500 record 2019 through 2020 season & how great their conference was in 2019 through 2020 season, but once regular season actually starts, each cbi # corresponds to only teams which have winning record 2020 through 2021 season & how great their conference will be in 2020 through 2021 season. For example 1. would be team with fine winning record in fine conference & 9. would be team with not as fine winning record & who plays in not as fine conference as teams above it. the fact that VCU isnt even in the NIT bracket projection at NET 35 and top 20 RPI makes this bracket dubious.
ReplyDeleteFact is well, RPI isn't used for march madness seeding by committee anymore as they cancelled use of that. In real life VCU Rams made 2021 march madness but didn't make it past 1st round due to coronavirus test among a player. Didn't put VCU in march madness or nit due to them not having best overall record in A 10. What site brought u here & what team are u a fan of.

ReplyDeleteBut to be fair VCU didn't have best overall record in A 10 so that's why I didn't put them in march madness. I later realized on week of March 8, they should be in that tourney. So then Rams made march madness, but coronavirus positive test for 1 of their players caused their game with Ducks to be cancelled & A 10 side couldn't advance. What site brought u here & what team are u a fan of.
DeleteStill not seeing Georgia Tech anywhere on here at all. They are the #4 team in the ACC and are on every bracket but yours. You don't even have them on the NIT, CBT, etc... What's up with that?
ReplyDelete1 team in Pac 12 Washington Huskies didn't make tournament despite winning Pac 12 (then Pac 10) conference title several years ago so 4 team in ACC isn't a lock to march madness. NIT & CBI are for ACC teams, CIT is not for ACC teams. Sadly Georgia Tech made tournament but lost in tournament 1st round to Ramblers. DeleteSo let me get this straight, VCU beat Richmond, finished higher in the A10 standing than Richmond, has a much higher NET and better metrics across the board, VCU is in the A10 finals while Richmond got eliminated (playing in their home arena) in their first game...YET not only do you NOT have VCU in the tournament, but you don't even have them in the NIT either. But you have Richmond as a 1# seed in the NIT? You even have Dayton as a #1 seed in the NIT while VCU has way better metrics and they beat Dayton three times this season.

Your bracket is a joke. VCU in the CBI? They’re an NCAA lock. And Richmond won’t even make the NIT. UVA only a 6 seed?
ReplyDeleteAt least I put VCU in postseason like everyone else. They're (back then) weren't an NCAA lock since other teams could also have jumped then between March 7 & March 14, 2021, Spiders are a team I did feel would make NIT & Cavaliers were ranked between 21 & 24 in AP poll the week of March 1, 2021 so that's why they got a 6 seed. Rams made march madness but didn't advance past 1st round due to positive coronavirus test for a player, Spiders did make NIT & Cavaliers were selected as a 4 seed in real life. DeleteLol, one of the weirdest and dumbest brackets I have seen. I mean dude, you have Colgate as an 11 seed. They have only played 13 games, and played the same team 5 times. I hope this is not your day job. In fact, you should spend your time elsewhere entirely, lol.

Raiders were an 11 seed that day because they had great statistics, like their #9 NET & I enjoy this blogging that in the future I do see myself making this my day job & I should not spend my time elsewhere entirely, lol, so take that, person. DeleteSo let me get this straight, u are putting down those other 2 teams despite it being really in ur team interest to have Spiders & Flyers be strong. I didn't know Richmond was playing in their home arena in their 1st game when they lost & Dayton I know has worse metrics than Rams. Realize that I did make mistakes but to be fair NBC Sports Network which shows tons of A 10 games is shutting down really soon so I didn't watch any VCU games on NBC Sports Network & in real life both Spiders & Flyers were in NIT but not as a 1 seed for either of them while VCU didn't advance past 1st round of march madness due to positive coronavirus test for a player.
